Itinerary

Day 1 – Postavarul Bike Park

From Brasov, we’ll take the shuttle to Poiana Brasov and then the cable car all the way to the peak of Postavarul. If you want to, we can also pedal to the top and get to see some awesome views that you couldn’t see from the car – it’s up to you! There are between 30 – 35 mountain bike trails in Postavarul. We’ve got single tracks, natural lines, Postavarul Bike Park, gravel roads, and a lot more, enough to cover anyone’s needs and skillset.

Day 2 – Bucegi Mtns. and Omu Peak

Navigating the mountains on a bike is why you’re here, and that’s what it’s all about on the second day. We’ll ride Strunga, one of the most popular trails in the country. It’s about 1,000m of downhill packed with rock gardens, switchbacks, tables, jumps, and a lot of spectacular views. This is your first enduro challenge on this tour.

We can either pedal and push our bikes all the way up to 2,000m and get to see some awesome views, but also sweat a lot, or we can take a shortcut – cable car to Sinaia and pedal our way to Strunga trail head. Either way, you’ll see Baiului Mtns and Fagaras Mtns if the weather allows. This is a very remote area of our Bucegi Mtns, so pack some lunch because we’ll be far away from any restaurant.

Day 3 – Piatra Craiului Mtns.

We’ll climb up and down a lot this day, but I can assure you it’ll be 100% worth it. We’ll start from Zarnesti and go up to Cabana Curmatura. We can pick and choose from 3 different trails, all just as good as the other. You’ll also get to see Prapastiile Zarnestiului, a great spot for bird-watching and rock climbing.

We’ll visit Magura and Pestera, mountain villages where the locals live the simplest life there is. If you want to get a taste of the authentic local culture, these two secluded alpine villages will take you back in time where you can leave all your worries!

Day 4 – Saxon Villages

Viscri and the Saxon Villages are, at the moment, the places with the highest quality when it comes to tourism. These are Prince Charles’ favorite places in Romania. We’ll pedal on mellow single tracks and hills, so you can enjoy the scenic landscapes, history, and beautiful architecture of these ancient villages.

We’ll take lunch in a fancy restaurant with delicious traditional food so you can recharge your batteries for the way back. We’ll ride back to Crit, where a shuttle will be waiting for us.

Day 5 –  Ciucas Mtns. or Freeride Arena

We’ve had a chill day in the Saxon Villages, but we’re back to mountain biking on day 5. We’ll be an hour away from Brasov, in Ciucas Mountains – a low altitude massif with a lot of potential to keep us busy for a day of heavy riding.

We’ll ride the same trails that pros shredded a few years ago in two local enduro competitions. We’ll combine shuttling and pedaling so we can have as much fun as possible without wasting any time.

Day 6 –  Tampa Mountains and Poiana Brasov

We’ll keep it simple and local on our last day. You’ll get to see more of the surroundings in Brasov and Poiana Brasov, a very popular place for skiing and snowboarding. The mountain in our backyard, Tampa, will make our journey possible, connecting these two towns with beautiful natural trails.

We’ll spend half of this day riding and half networking with other riders over a beer, an ice cream, or a dish of the tastiest food you’ll ever eat. By the end of the day, you’ll understand the mountain biking landscape in Romania much better, and you’ll discover what’s next for the enduro community around here.

Day 7 –  Departure Day

You’ll wake up whenever you feel like it. There’s no riding this day unless you want to pedal around town. Whenever you’re done packing, we’ll take you to the airport, or you can continue your journey. Thanks for riding with us, we know it’ll be tough to separate.

Backup stage

Even if we figured out the perfect plan for you, we can’t predict the weather, so this is our Plan B: Sinaia And Azuga Bike Parks.

Marius Stratila

Mountain Guide & MIAS Mountain Bike Leader

Enduro biking and splitboarding are part of me, they define who I am. For me, they are more than just a way to escape crowded and overused resorts. They are a way to push limits and get out of the comfort zone, a way to explore and to discover.

That perfect mix of silence and grandeur that only a mountain can offer, the freedom to climb on your own, to define your route and follow it, the power to use your body strength to move forward and to enjoy downhill rides and fresh turns, no matter what season is out there – this is what defines me and what I want to share. The path is the same, only the texture is different.

What our happy adventurers have been saying about our tours

I’m from Brasov and I wanted to try the Blue Line in Postavaru for some time. Some friends from Brasov recommended Massif Experience to me, I was lucky with a cancellation and found an instructor for the next day. Until then, I had been on XC trails quite a lot, but I had not yet tried a more enduro trail.

Well, in a 4-hour session with Ciprian Popescu I managed to do several descents. If I were walking alone, I would probably make a descent on foot and leave the puddle :). The technical advice related to the position on the bike, cornering, braking, etc. were very well explained.

In general, I don’t write reviews unless the experience was “wow!” and in my case it really was!

Thank you Ciprian & “Massif Experience”, keep in touch!

Massif Experience has it all: Marius is a good trail connoisseur (knowing exactly where to take you, based on your experience, riding style and terrain preferences), a nice guy whom you can have some valuable chats with during fireroad climbs or lunchbreak, and a terrific trip organizer.
His bike fleet is up to the task and on par with his personal traits that make him one of the best guides in Braşov.
Whether you’re a MTB newbie and want just to coast on some easy trails or a hardcore gravity junkie, looking for some steep gradients and chunky rock gardens, he will surely find a way for you to get acquainted with Braşov’s trail offerings, beautiful surroundings and get that blood pumpin’ !
