This year, we’re starting the ski and snowboard season earlier.
Realistically, finding fresh powder to ride in anywhere in the northern hemisphere in December is nearly impossible, with one exception – Siberia, Far East Kazakhstan.
So, get your skis, split, or whatever you like to ride and come with us in the 6th largest country in the world to have fun!
Enjoy an unforgettable ski trip experience
Mix adventure with fun and a beautiful cultural shock
And check off your bucket list another dream made reality
But... Why Should You Come?
Kazakhstan is the 6th largest country in the world, but with a population smaller than Romania’s. You’ll enjoy a very quite, beautiful, and diverse country where you’ll see a huge contrast between big cities and small, sovietic mining towns.
Less Crowded
Kazakhstan is a lot less crowded than other countries where people go skiing, like France, Switzerland, or Austria.
More Affordable
Kazakhstan is also a lot more affordable, so you won’t even have to budget like you’re going on a 10-day ski trip.
More Exotic
Get 3 days of catskiing and just as much tour skiing in the most exotic and remote place you can enjoy fresh powder in December.
How Does It Look Like?
What's The Plan?
We want to pack as much fun and riding as possible! Here’s how it’ll go…
We’ll fly from Romania to Istanbul, from Istanbul to Almaty, and from Almaty to Oskemen. From there, a 2-hour trip to our base camp, Ridder.
We’ll have our first 3 days cat skiing. We’ll ride fresh powder in some beautiful, remote locations that very few people ever get to.
Back to our specialty, tour skiing. We’ll have 2 days in which we’ll take out our splits or skis on and shred some more powder.
We thought after 5 days of non-stop riding, we could use a rest. On this day, you can do whatever you want. But… we can also go riding again (for an extra 50eur/pers)
We’ll take that 2-hour drive back to Oskemen and then a short flight to Almaty. We’ll get there just in time for a short night walk and an authentic Kazak dinner.
We’ll spend this day in Shymbulak, on piste and off-piste. There’s 3200m elevation so we can ride the entire day without getting bored.
We’ll spend the night in Almaty and early in the morning we’ll catch a flight back home. First Istanbul with a short layover, and then back to Romania.
This is a complete backcountry experience where we can guarantee you’ll have a lot of fun and you’ll make some awesome memories with like minded people.

We had a great guided ski touring day in Ciucaș mountains with Marius and Andrei. The weather was perfect and the lines picked by Marius matched it!
These guys know what they’re doing. We had great conversation with a lot of know-how transfer, from avalanche safety to gear and technique (and everything in between).
It truly was a pleasure!

Frequently Asked Questions
How will cat skiing days go?
We’ll have 3 days of cat skiing with drops from 3500m to 4700m. We’ll do from 5 to 7 drops, depending on everyone’s level. The ratrac will only take 14-15 persons, but that’s more than enough.
During all cat skiing days, you’ll have a tail and a head guide so everyone is safe and sound.
How will ski/split tour go?
We’ll have 2 days for ski/split touring, with a 3rd day being optional for 50 eur/pers. The drops are approximately 1000-1700m in and around forests. Beautiful scenery and a lot of effort, but it’ll pay off.
This tour will be ski in and ski out of your hotel, with the possibility of transfers if need be.
What's in Shymbulak?
Shymbulak is the biggest resort in Kazakhstan, very similar to the ones you’ll find in the Alps.
Everything here is worthy of a Western European country, with a twist: the prices are lower and the place a lot less crowded. Trust me, Shymbulak will make you reconsider your favorite ski resort.
How are the hotels we'll stay in?
We’ll stay in a forest hotel, in chalets, or in hotels. The forest hotel will offer 3 or 4 meals a day. We’ll be staying 2 or 3 in each room, with the option to get a single room if you don’t feel comfortable otherwise.
I can guarantee that every place we’ll stay in will be clean and very friendly so you’ll love every second of your trip.
What's in Ridder?
Ridder is a remote place where the winter starts in late October and ends in late March. It’s an old mining area, very cold, with a beautiful and antique soviet taste.
The locals in Ridder are extremely friendly and very far from any political dispute.
What's in Altay Mtns.?
The Altay Mountains spread across Kazakhstan, Mongolia, China, and Russia. We’ll be in Siberia, so the temperatures will most likely be below 0. During our last tour, the temperature got as low as -35 Celsius when we were boarding a plane in Oskemen. Generally, however, there will be between -10 and -15 Celsius.
We’ll ride in forest areas with slopes between 25 and 35 degrees.
