Home to Dracula and dozens of other myths, Brasov is one of the most popular cities in Romania.
Brasov is a hotspot for mountain bikers, hikers, and nature enthusiasts because it’s surrounded by mountains and memorable sights.
Close to Bucegi, Ciucas, Poiana Brasov, Postavarul Massif, and Piatra Craiului Massif, this place is perfect if you want to discover Transilvania and Romania’s real beauty.
And there’s no better way to do this than on a mountain bike, pedalling your way to places you’ll never see otherwise!
We spent 2 days with Marius and Andrei, going through crazy trails, learning how to jump, surrounded by unbelievable views, camping around the fire and riding awesome enduro bikes.. They adapted to our level, we took full advantage of the days, nobody got hurt and everybody came back with sparkles in their eyes hoping to go back soon!
Keep up the good work and see you again soon!
Update: we had another 2 trips with Marius and all were meeting and exceeding the expectations. I highly recommend this for anyone that like mountain biking and/or the mountains. Thanks again !
Postavarul Bike Park.
From Brasov, we’ll take the shuttle to Poiana Brasov and then the cable car all the way to the peak of Postavarul. If you want to, we can also pedal to the top and get to see some awesome views that you couldn’t see from the car – it’s up to you!
There are between 30 – 35 mountain bike trails in Postavarul. We’ve got single tracks, natural lines, Postavarul Bike Park, gravel roads, and a lot more, enough to cover anyone’s needs and skillset.
Bucegi Mountains and Omu Peak
Navigating the mountains on a bike is why you’re here, and that’s what it’s all about on the second day.
We’ll ride Strunga, one of the most popular trails in the country. It’s about 1,000m of downhill packed with rock gardens, switchbacks, tables, jumps, and a lot of spectacular views. This is your first enduro challenge on this tour.
We can either pedal and push our bikes all the way up to 2,000m and get to see some awesome views, but also sweat a lot, or we can take a shortcut – cable car to Sinaia and pedal our way to Strunga trail head. Either way, you’ll see Baiului Mtns and Fagaras Mtns if the weather allows. This is a very remote area of our Bucegi Mtns, so pack some lunch because we’ll be far away from any restaurant.
Piatra Craiului
We’ll climb up and down a lot this day, but I can assure you it’ll be 100% worth it.
We’ll start from Zarnesti and go up to Cabana Curmatura. We can pick and choose from 3 different trails, all just as good as the other. You’ll also get to see Prapastiile Zarnestiului, a great spot for bird-watching and rock climbing.
We’ll visit Magura and Pestera, mountain villages where the locals live the simplest life there is. If you want to get a taste of the authentic local culture, these two secluded alpine villages will take you back in time where you can leave all your worries!
Saxon Villages
Viscri and the Saxon Villages are, at the moment, the places with the highest quality when it comes to tourism. These are Prince Charles’ favorite places in Romania.
We’ll pedal on mellow single tracks and hills, so you can enjoy the scenic landscapes, history, and beautiful architecture of these ancient villages.
We’ll take lunch in a fancy restaurant with delicious traditional food so you can recharge your batteries for the way back. We’ll ride back to Crit where a shuttle will be waiting for us.
Ciucas Mtns. or Freeride Arena
We’ve had a chill day in the Saxon Villages, but we’re back to mountain biking on day 5. We’ll be an hour away from Brasov, in Ciucas Mountains – a low altitude massif with a lot of potential to keep us busy for a day of heavy riding.
We’ll ride the same trails that pros shredded a few years ago in two local enduro competitions. We’ll combine shuttling and pedaling so we can have as much fun as possible without wasting any time.
Tampa Mountain and Poiana Brasov
We’ll keep it simple and local on our last day. You’ll get to see more of the surroundings in Brasov and Poiana Brasov, a very popular place for skiing and snowboarding. The mountain in our backyard, Tampa, will make our journey possible, connecting these two towns with beautiful natural trails.
We’ll spend half of this day riding and half networking with other riders over a beer, an ice cream, or a dish of the tastiest food you’ll ever eat. By the end of the day, you’ll understand the mountain biking landscape in Romania much better, and you’ll discover what’s next for the enduro community around here.
Departure Day
You’ll wake up whenever you feel like it. There’s no riding this day unless you want to pedal around town. Whenever you’re done packing, we’ll take you to the airport, or you can continue your journey. Thanks for riding with us, we know it’ll be tough to separate.
Think about it…
You’re spending 7 days in a 3/4 star hotel with breakfast and lunch included, fun activities every single day, with shuttling and guiding – all for 950 Euros. Normally in Brasov, you’d pay over 1,000 Euros for accommodation only.
We’d call it a great deal for you!
In fact, it’s not!
Every tour we organize is tailored to match your riding and endurance level. That way, you can have as much fun as possible without worrying about being left behind.
We’ll talk about every single aspect of this tour when you sign up!
Doesn’t really matter!
We’re lucky to live in a country where it’s relatively easy to travel, even without a strong passport.
Whether you land in Sibiu, Brasov, or Bucharest, we’ll come pick you up right from the airport!
Had a great day out with Marius on ebikes around Poiana Brasov! Trails were tailored to our experience level and were a mix of marked bike-park trails and unmarked trails.
Marius was great at giving us riding tips, making sure we were safe and had a good time. Booking was easy, they took info before the ride to set up the bikes for us and met us with the bikes in a convenient location.
Many thanks and hope to be back!
Spent 3 awesome days exploring the mountains with Marius who was an amazing guide and host.
Equipment was top notch, knowledge of the area was un-questionable and general atmosphere created for my days was fantastic.
Couldn’t of asked for me and highly recommend!
Mountain Guide & MIAS Mountain Bike Leader
Enduro biking and splitboarding are part of me, they define who I am. For me, they are more than just a way to escape crowded and overused resorts. They are a way to push limits and get out of the comfort zone, a way to explore and to discover.
That mix of silence and grandeur that only a mountain can offer, the freedom to climb on your own, the power to use your body to move forward, the excitement of going downhill – this is what defines me and what I want to share. The path is the same, only the texture is different.
We’ve helped hundreds of tourists discover two immensely beautiful things: our city and its surroundings and mountain biking. You’re guaranteed to love this experience as we’re fully committed to your satisfaction. Here’s what other people say about visiting Romania with us!
Despite the rain and slippery terrain, Marius showed me some awesome single tracks. I am glad that I listened to him and didn’t get a beer up top at Postăvaru cabin.
Marius was a great lead and catered the experience/trail choice to my riding level. Super fun, full day out into the mtns on the e-bike. Felt safe and well-led. Marius was always offering help and tips for things to do in Brasov. Would recommend this tour to friends.
An amazing day out on the e bikes! The tour guide Marius was very professional ; from our initial conversation about planning the day and time etc to his local knowledge, all very spot on! Certainly a company you can trust to deliver a brilliant adventure!
. . . and get a holiday everyone will envy you for!
